Our work together will be very strengths-based and collaborative. That means we look at what you have been doing that has helped and apply it to getting through your challenges. We work from your view of the situation. You are the expert on yourself, and I am the expert on the process. More on my treatment methods below. Together, we set goals and help you meet your goals. In my couple’s counseling work, I focus on process instead of on content to help you break the same old patterns that prevent growth and joy in your relationship. It is very common for couples repeat the same patterns of conflict over and over. In our work together, we will focus on the underlying process that drive the conflict. So often a lack of sexual contact and intimacy is a barometer of the relationship. I will help you reconnect on all levels. Learn more about my Couples Counseling Offerings.
Parenting Support, Step/Blended Family Support, Family Therapy
When working with parents, we explore how you have been parenting; from your viewpoint, your perceived relationship with your children; and discuss what needs to be changed and what has been working well. If possible and desired, I will come into your home to observe how your family works and provide feedback. The configurations of the families with whom I work include both traditional and non-traditional families. Learn More about my Parenting/Family Support

EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy)
Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) is an attachment oriented approach developed by Sue Johnson and Les Greenberg. It is one of the few empirically-validated forms of couple's therapy. For couples who complete the process, there is an outstanding success rate of 70-73%. The research demonstrates that couples significantly improve over the course of treatment and continue to enhance their relationship at a two year follow-up.
